IGO is once again working with Occitanie to promote the region’s heritage, tourism and infrastructure.
IGO has been working for many years with the Occitanie / Pyrénées-Méditerranée region on the development of innovative 3D applications.
The Occitanie Region
The Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée region boasts a significant land bank, with 10 airports, 3 ports and no fewer than 42 business parks. It also boasts numerous multimodal hubs and tourist attractions. For several years now, the Occitanie region has been keen to offer innovative, immersive and unique user experiences. The first objective of the project is to acquire very high-resolution data to complete and update current information on infrastructure zones, and thus monitor their evolution. This data will then be used to promote the region’s heritage, tourism and infrastructure.
IGO‘s role
Our team focuses on three areas: the creation of a 3D photo mesh, the modeling of 3D objects and the development of innovative products. innovative products virtual reality, augmented reality, holograms and 3D printing.
3D photo-meshing is the automated construction of a 3D model of a given territory, using photogrammetric processes of dense automatic correlation based on vertical and oblique shots, as well as LIDAR data. The aim of this technique is to create a textured 3D mesh from real photos.
The 3D photo mesh was used to create Javols VR, an application developed for immersive exploration of the ancient capital of Gévaudan.
We have produced a new 3D immersion for the Pont du Gard and are now working on promoting ports and airports.
These different media enable the Region to visualize future developments, as well as providing a territorial marketing tool to present the economic dynamics of its infrastructures.
”IGO called on Etrange Ordinaire to complete its expertise in UX Design, and on IMA Solutions to digitize museum objects. Both companies are based in the Occitanie region.
