What if every region in France could anticipate tomorrow’s challenges with an intelligent digital replica?

JUNN makes it possible. April 13, 2026 marked the official launch of this ambitious national project, which aims to democratize the use of digital twins throughout France. Spearheaded by IGN, Inria, Cerema and 1Spatial FR, and supported by the French government via France 2030 and the Banque des Territoires, the program contributes to making information accessible to enable anticipation and decision-making, based on verified data.

A revolution for more resilient territories

With JUNN, France enters a new era: that of connected, intelligent territories capable of anticipating the major challenges of the 21st century. Whether for climate, energy, natural hazards, mobility or planning, digital twins offer a dynamic virtual replica of physical spaces. They enable :

  • simulate the impact of a development project
  • anticipating natural hazards
  • supporting the energy transition
  • better understand and manage territories

A shared technology base

  • A common technological foundation: to deploy digital twins on a national scale, guaranteeing interoperability and sovereignty.
  • Advanced simulation tools: to anticipate regional changes and inform public and private decision-making.
  • Reliable, accessible data: pooled and ready to use, to facilitate action by local authorities and economic players.

IGO, a key player in the project

At IGO, we are proud to contribute to this project alongside 14 public and private partners. Our missions revolve around :

  • production of 3D models in the form of photomaillages
  • adapting our production tools to the needs of the project
  • generation of 3D meshes from high-definition LiDAR data
  • participation in the development of the 3D data hosting platform
  • the technological openness of our “Geospatial Unity SDK” open source development tool
